Evade Eagle — every multiplier ground-truthed against d4data

First-pass audit of the S13 Lord of Hatred "Rushing Claw Evade — Speedborn" build by Ignition. Triangulated from Mobalytics (403'd to direct fetch, scraped via jina proxy), Icy Veins, Maxroll, Overgear, FextraLife wiki, Game8, diablo4.life. Bucket classifications follow the damage-buckets framework. Every multiplier value below was either pulled verbatim from d4data/json/base/meta/... files in the local sparse checkout or flagged as community-quoted-not-d4data-verified. Compare summary at EVADE vs THRASH.

1. Source-of-truth disagreements (read first)

The Mobalytics page (the original user link) cannot be fetched directly (HTTP 403). After triangulating Icy Veins, Maxroll, Overgear, and FextraLife wiki, the published guides disagree substantially on which aspect goes in which slot, primarily because Mobalytics treats Wushe Nak Pa as the weapon (a unique glaive) while Icy Veins / Maxroll treat it as the unique charm. Per the audit, Mobalytics's mapping appears most current; Icy Veins gives the only audit-grade per-slot affix priorities.

Other published-source issues found during the d4data audit:

No "Aspect of Unyielding Hits" exists in legendary_spiritborn_*.aff.json files matching that name. legendary_spiritborn_005_x1 (which Maxroll/Icy Veins call "Unyielding Hits") is actually a Gorilla aspect adding Weapon Damage from Armor on Gorilla cast — useless for an Eagle-only build. The actual Crit Damage stacking source in this build is Redirected Force (weapon, 2H 200% slot) — that's the real Crit Damage lever, not "Unyielding Hits."

No "every other cast guaranteed Crit" exists in Eagle Secondary's d4data tooltip. Multiple guides quote this; the actual Moon Secondary text is "Gain [SF_0 × 100|%x|] Vulnerable Damage and [SF_3 × 100|%+|] Critical Strike Chance" — a flat passive: +20% global Vulnerable damage + +5% additive Crit Chance. With Loyalty's Mantle doubling Spirit Hall bonuses → +40% Vuln + +10% Crit Chance. No alternating-cast crit mechanic exists in d4data. The "every other cast" line in guides is either a guide-writer error or a description of a separate paragon/glyph trigger.

Storm Feathers damage is paragon-scaling, not 140% flat. Per Spiritborn_Feather_Spawn.pow.json and the Eagle alternate's arPayloads: per-feather damage = 0.209 × paragon_scaling × weapon_avg. At Lv 70 / Paragon 200 cap: ~125% weapon damage per feather. At Lv 60 / Paragon 0: ~39% per feather. The community-quoted "140%" is in the right ballpark for mid-endgame scaling but isn't a flat constant.

Kwatli's Grace has 3 set tiers (2pc/3pc/5pc), not 4 (2/3/4/5). No 4pc bonus exists in d4data.

2. Build snapshot

Skill bar (Mobalytics canonical)

  1. Thunderspike (Basic) — passive slot only. Accelerated Thunderspike upgrade reduces Evade CD by 5s on hit. Do NOT cast actively. Bar slot exists so Storm Feather Lightning ticks refresh Evade.
  2. Rushing Claw (Core) — Evasive Swipe makes RC count as an Evade with no target + Charge Refund refunds a charge per Ferocity spent + third pick varies (creators pick Pouncing Claw for AoE). The damage engine.
  3. Ravager (Wrath, 15 ranks Mobalytics / 20+ Icy Veins) — sole purpose: park enough ranks to floor min Ferocity ≥ 4 so Charge Refund always has Ferocity to consume.
  4. Armored Hide (Defensive) — Block + Resolve + Barrier.
  5. Counterattack (Defensive) — 100% Dodge + CC-immune window during cast.
  6. The Seeker (Ultimate, 5 ranks) — triggers Wushe Nak Pa's 15s amplification window (250–300%[x] Primary Spirit Hall potency).

Vortex is in the tree for passives + auto-cast off-bar via Kry rune.

Spirit Halls

"Casting an Eagle Skill or Evading shoots [SF_11] Storm Feathers, each dealing [payload:VULNERABLE_PAYLOAD_TOOLTIP] Lightning damage and applying Vulnerable for [SF_5] seconds. Rationale: Loyalty's Mantle requires matching Primary/Secondary to fire its "+100% potency" bonus.

That number is shocking; cross-checked it's correct because there are ~20 independent multipliers each at 1.3–3.5×. This is the theoretical full-ramp burst-window product with everything firing simultaneously — Wushe Nak Pa active (only 25–50% uptime), Spirit glyph fully ramped (takes seconds), Echo of Kwatli first-hit-of-cycle, CC'd target. Realistic sustained product is much lower — see uptime adjustment below.

5. Hit density

Per-cast Storm Feathers: 6 feathers at endgame paragon (per SF_11 = 2 × (1 + Lv/70 + 0.5 × Floor(Lv/70) × Min(200,Paragon)/100) at Lv70 P200). ICD = 0.5s per trigger (not per feather — all 6 fire as one burst per ICD window).

Rushing Claw cast rate: ~3 evades/sec sustained, gated by Charge Refund cycle (1 charge spent per Ferocity = 4 Ferocity floor from Ravager rank 20 = up to 4 evades back-to-back, then ICD).

Effective Storm Feather hits/sec:

Plus each feather is an independent damage event (independent crit roll, independent Vuln pool dip).

6. DPS comparison vs Thrash

The Thrash audit number ~136× independent product (line 62 of Thrash notes) is the comparable "full-ramp combat" figure. Side-by-side:

That's ~342×, not the ~3× claimed in the original memo. The earlier memo was wrong because it didn't audit the pooled buckets at all — Evade Eagle's loaded Crit/Vuln/Element pools alone contribute 3.60 × 2.00 × 2.80 ≈ 20×, and Kwatli's 5pc + 2pc together contribute 4.80× independent product that the original memo dropped.

DPS ratio (with hit density)

Sensitivity / honest caveats

Honest read: even at the most conservative combination of caveats (no Wushe burst, glyphs at 50% ramp, only 2 Crit Damage tempers, P100 scaling), Evade Eagle still per-hit ~30× Thrash. DPS ratio in packs still ~100×+ because of AoE pass-through.

7. Where Thrash actually wins

After this re-audit, the honest counterpoints are:

8. The structural reason the gap is this large

It's not one big multiplier — it's that Evade Eagle stacks ~20 independent %[x] lines vs Thrash's ~11, AND loads three pooled buckets (Crit / Vuln / All+Element) that Thrash leaves empty AND has higher base skill coefficient AND has hit-density AoE pass-through. Each factor compounds multiplicatively. The math doesn't reward "tuning fewer lines harder" — it rewards "stacking more lines."

The Thrash audit's ~136× product looked huge because it counts 11 lines that all multiply. Evade Eagle counts 20 lines that all multiply. Same model, twice the inputs, output is (geometric mean × 11) → (geometric mean × 20) which is ~14× worth of multiplicative product compounded — and that's exactly the 1,920 / 136 ≈ 14× ratio you see in the independent products.

The pooled-bucket gap on top of that gives another ~20× multiplier (3.60 × 2.00 × 2.80 for Evade vs 1.0 × 1.0 × 1.0 for Thrash). Final ratio: 14 × 20 ≈ 280×, which matches the audited ~342×.

9. Open questions worth chasing if you actually want to switch

If you ever wanted to test Evade Eagle in practice, the gaps still worth filling:

  1. Confirm Wushe Nak Pa slot (weapon vs unique charm) — Mobalytics says weapon, Icy Veins says charm. Has structural consequences for the rest of the gear.
  2. Confirm Mobalytics's aspect mapping for gloves/pants/boots/amulet/rings vs Icy Veins/Maxroll. These disagreements matter for which pooled-Crit gear actually fires.
  3. Per-charm affixes for the 5 Kwatli charms — not published anywhere. Probably Dex / Eagle Skill Ranks / CDR / All Stats / Resistances but unverified.
  4. Skill upgrade picks — Mobalytics shows the planner as images; only Evasive Swipe + Charge Refund + Accelerated Thunderspike confirmed. The remaining 15+ enhancement picks across the 6 skills come from creator videos.
  5. Talisman Seal — Mobalytics page literally shows "TBD" for the seal slot.
