Evade Eagle vs Thrash + Sepazontec — Re-audited with every multiplier
Comparison of the tuned Thrash + Sepazontec build against the current S13 meta Rushing Claw Evade — Speedborn Eagle variant (Mobalytics · Icy Veins · Maxroll), with every multiplier ground-truthed against the local d4data sparse checkout. Full per-line audit lives at spiritborn-evade-eagle.md.
Correction to first-pass memo — the earlier version of this page claimed ~3× per hit / ~2-8× DPS. That number was wrong by two orders of magnitude. The first pass inventoried maybe half of Evade Eagle's multipliers and left the pooled buckets at ~1.0× without auditing them. The corrected audited estimate is ~342× per hit and ~330–990× DPS. Walk-through below.
1. What the link points to
Mobalytics' /spiritborn-evade = Rushing Claw Evade — Speedborn by Ignition. Rushing Claw with the Evasive Swipe enhancement makes RC count as an Evade with no target. Eagle Primary Spirit Hall ("alternate" / Storm Feathers version) converts every Evade into 6 Storm Feathers + auto-applied Vulnerable. Loyalty's Mantle doubles Spirit Hall bonuses while Primary = Secondary (Eagle/Eagle), so both the Storm Feathers payload and the Eagle Secondary's +20%x Vuln + +5% Crit Chance double to +40% / +10%.
Mobalytics returns HTTP 403 to direct fetch — the audit triangulated Mobalytics (via jina proxy) + Icy Veins + Maxroll + FextraLife wiki + Game8 + diablo4.life. The published guides disagree on aspect-per-slot mapping; see §8.
2. The structural insight
Evade Eagle's edge isn't a bigger single multiplier — it's two compounding effects: (1) it stacks ~20 independent %[x] lines that multiply together vs Thrash's ~11 (same model, twice the inputs → roughly 14× larger product geometrically); (2) it loads three pooled buckets (Crit Damage, Vuln Damage, All+Lightning) that Thrash leaves near-empty, adding another ~20× multiplicative gap. Plus AoE pass-through, plus per-feather independent crit roll, plus higher base skill coefficient. The compounding is the entire story.

Pool product on a crit Lightning hit on Vuln'd target: 3.60 × 2.00 × 2.80 ≈ 20×. That entire 20× is "free" gap over Thrash because Thrash leaves the pools empty by gear-tuning convention.

The single biggest line in Thrash is Plains Power 3.60×. Evade has at least five lines each ≥3.0× (Kwatli 5pc 3.00, Wushe Nak Pa 3.50, pooled Crit 3.60, Jagged Plume 2.50, Conceited 2H 2.20). The geometric stacking is the entire story.
7. Sensitivity / honest caveats
The 342× per-hit ratio is the audited midpoint. Where it could move:
- No Wushe Nak Pa burst (sustained only): ratio holds (already excluded from sustained number).
- Drop Wushe out of burst formula too: burst ratio drops from 3,900× to ~1,800×.
- Glyphs at 50% ramp (5s burst window): ratio drops ~3× → ~110× per hit.
- Only 2 Crit Damage tempers instead of 4: pooled Crit drops 3.60 → 2.00 → ratio drops ~1.8× → ~190× per hit.
- Paragon 100 instead of 200 (Storm Feather coef 75% instead of 125%): ratio drops ~1.7× → ~200× per hit.
- All conservative caveats combined: ~30× per hit, ~100× DPS in packs. Evade still wins decisively even in the worst case.
8. Source-of-truth disagreements found during audit
Wushe Nak Pa slot — Mobalytics says weapon (unique glaive); Maxroll/Icy Veins say unique charm. High-confidence Mobalytics is right post-LoH.
Wushe Nak Pa potency — 50–100% (Game8 legacy) vs 250–300% (Mobalytics/diablo4.life S13). Audit used 250–300%.
Eagle Secondary "every other cast guaranteed Crit" — quoted in Icy Veins and Mobalytics text. NOT in d4data. The Moon Secondary text is literally +20%x Vuln + +5% Crit Chance (doubled via Loyalty's Mantle to +40% / +10%). The "every other cast" line is a guide-writer artifact, possibly conflated with a paragon node or glyph trigger.
"Aspect of Unyielding Hits" doesn't exist in d4data Spiritborn aspects. legendary_spiritborn_005_x1 (which guides call "Unyielding Hits") is actually a Gorilla aspect adding Weapon Damage from Armor on Gorilla cast — useless for Eagle-only. The real Crit-stacking gear is Redirected Force (weapon, 2H doubled-slot).
Storm Feathers 140% per feather — community-quoted. d4data formula is paragon-scaling: 0.209 × paragon_scaling × weapon_avg, yielding ~125% at Lv70/P200, ~75% at P100, ~39% at Lv60/P0.
Kwatli's Grace 4pc bonus — quoted in some guides. d4data confirms set has only 2pc/3pc/5pc tiers.
9. Where Thrash actually wins
What Evade buys
- ~342× per hit, ~330–990× DPS depending on density
- Decoupled damage event from resource bar
- AoE multi-hit scaling with pack size
- Loaded pooled Crit/Vuln/Element pools (~20×)
- Loyalty's Mantle doubles Eagle Hall scaling
- Move-Speed-as-damage compounding (Fleet Wings)
- "Hold W" simplicity — speedfarm-tier
What Thrash buys
- Plains Power 3.60× is largest single line in either build
- Rezoka 5pc Prowess burst (4.75× Jaguar) is real
- Ebewaka per-Spirit-type ×1.9 line Evade doesn't run
- Sepazontec single-target density (~12.5/sec) matches feathers single-target
- Mechanical depth — 5 condition trees to tune
- You've already tuned it. Switching cost is real (~2 weeks).
10. Honest takeaway
The math says Evade Eagle is ~300× ahead per hit and ~600× ahead on DPS in packs. That number sounds absurd but it's just (~14× larger independent product) × (~20× pooled-bucket gap) × (~3× hit density on packs) — each individual factor is defensible.
The structural reasons remain what the original memo said: decoupled damage event from resource bar, AoE multi-hit, loaded pooled Crit/Vuln/Element pools, Move-Speed-as-damage, and Loyalty's Mantle doubling everything in the Eagle Hall. None of those are knobs Thrash can turn without abandoning its core identity.
